Brad Sweet

Stats

Brad Sweet is a California kid who made a name for himself in the national open-wheel racing circuits. After being tapped to drive for Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) in 2007 by Kasey Kahne himself, Sweet became superstar in his own right in the USAC racing world with victories including the Belleville Midget Nationals, the Knoxville Midget Nationals and both the Sprint Car and Midget “Four Crown Nationals” at Eldora Speedway.

Showing no signs of slowing his success, Sweet will embark upon a new adventure as he gets set to make his debut in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) and run for the 2012 Rookie of the Year honors as he shares driving duties of the iconic No. 38 Great Clips Chevrolet with Kahne for Turner Motorsports.

No stranger to the Great Clips Racing family, Sweet has made 18 NCWTS starts as well as one NNS start (2010) sporting the Great Clips banner over the last three seasons.

Sweet is following in the footsteps of his mentor, owner and teammate, Kasey Kahne. He is making the same transition from open-wheel to stock cars with the continued support of Great Clips, just as Kahne did before becoming a star in the Sprint Cup Series ranks.  Kahne drove the No. 38 Great Clips machine in the NNS from 2003-2005, before stepping back into the ride for select races in 2010 and 2011. Kahne will continue to be a mentor to Sweet as he progresses into NNS competition and beyond.
